A hundred years after making their debut at an Olympic Games, the Philippines return to Paris, France, for their 23rd appearance at the Olympics.

From July 26 to August 11, 22 Filipino and Filipina athletes will compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 as the world’s best athletes gather for the largest multi-sports event on the planet.

How many times have Philippines taken part in the summer Olympic Games?

Paris 2024 marks 100 years since the Games were last held in the French capital at Paris 1924 – which was also the first time Philippines competed at the Olympic Games.

They were the first Southeast Asian team to compete at the Olympic Games.

They have appeared at every Games since except at Moscow 1980, when they joined a boycott.

How many medals did Philippines win at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

At Tokyo 2020, the Philippines won its first Olympic gold medal through weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, part of a total haul of four medals (one gold, two silver, one bronze).

As of Tokyo 2020, Philippines have a total of 14 medals at the summer Olympic Games: one gold, five silver, eight bronze.

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 also provided the most successful return in Team Philippines history.

In addition to Diaz, medals were won by boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial.

Boxing has been the best sport for the team, with eight medals in Philippine Olympic history coming from boxers.
