Germany's ice hockey players claimed the first medal on offer on day 12 of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024.
The German team won the bronze medal match of the women's 6-team event, beating Switzerland 3-1 to reach the podium. Sweden were the eventual gold medallists, beating Japan in the final.
In the men's bronze game, Canada let slip a 3-0 lead to lose to Finland on a penalty shootout. USA went on to claim gold later in the day by thrashing Czechia.
Medals were also up for grabs in the free skiing halfpipe discipline for each gender, with New Zealand and China claiming the golds.
The Nordic combined mixed team competition also took place. Finland claimed gold ahead of Slovenia and Italy.
The curling mixed doubles also continued on the penultimate day of the Youth Olympics, with coverage available live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app.
