On day 12 of competition at the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024, five medal events will take place.
Medals will be up for grabs in the free skiing halfpipe for each gender, along with the Nordic combined mixed team competition. The ice hockey 6-team competitions will come to an exciting close, while the curling mixed doubles continue.

Gangwon 2024: Key athletes to watch on day 12 of the Winter Youth Olympic Games
On day 12 of Gangwon 2024, the final freestyle skiing competitions will come to an end, featuring medal opportunities in halfpipe for both genders.
In the men’s event, New Zealand are lining up with two strong medal contenders. Luke Harrold has already claimed a medal at Gangwon 2024, winning bronze in Big Air. His compatriot Finley Melville Ives is one two watch too, boasting four Top 10 finishes on the senior World Cup since his debut, including a sixth place last month in the People’s Republic of China.
Local hero Moon Heesung will have the support of the home fans at Welli Hilli. The 17-year-old was fifth at the 2023 National Championships in halfpipe and is celebrate a medal in front of home fans.
For the women, Kathryn Gray of the United States looks to be the one to beat. Gray is reigning national champion in both halfpipe and slopestyle.
Liu Yishan of the People’s Republic of China might be the American's biggest threat. In the World Cup, she has three top-ten results in halfpipe since her debut a year ago.
The Nordic combined concludes with the mixed team normal hill/4x3.3km. Austria, Germany, Slovenia, and Norway are expected to battle for the podium spots.
Finally, the finals of the men's and women's ice hockey 6-team competitions are scheduled. On Tuesday, the semi-finals are played to determine the teams that will battle for gold.
