Reigning world champions the United States of America will close the year at the top of the women's FIBA Basketball World Rankings (18 December).

Following the most recent update (18 December) which includes all the results from the FIBA 2023 Youth Events that took place this year, the USA retain their position as the world's number one side over second-place France, which is also unmoved.

At number three is Canada, which is the first of several climbers in the most recent rankings.

Slovenia improved its position with a four-place jump into sixth while Finland joined the top 10 after leaping up six places.

Meanwhile, Croatia and Mali climbed seven and eight spots respectively to take up 11th and 12th in the rankings.

The biggest riser inside the top 20 was Serbia, which rose 20 places to 16th.
