11 sets of medals are up for grabs on day eight of the European multi-sport championships in Munich on Thursday 18 August.

In artistic gymnastics, the men's all-around champion will be crowned at the Olympiahalle: with Russian athletes banned from the competition, Turkey's Ahmed Onder will aim for a medal after just missing out on the podium at both the last World and European champs. Reigning world bronze medallist Ilia Kovtun of Ukraine opted out of the event to focus on the apparatus and team competition.

It will be the final day of sport climbing action at the Konigsplatz with Olympic medallists Alberto Gines and Jakob Schubert, and newly crowned lead European champion Adam Ondra, likely fighting for medals at the men's boulder and lead event.

Several Tokyo 2020 gold medallists will feature in Thursday's athletics session, starting from Olympic and world long jump champion Malaika Mihambo, who will bid for her second straight European title in front of the home crowd. In the men's high jump, Gianmarco Tamberi will have to find his best form to beat Ukraine's Andriy Protsenko, who forced the Italian out of the podium at the recent World championships in Oregon.

With reigning world champion Jake Wightman choosing to race only the 800m, Jakob Ingebrigtsen is looking to add another European crown to his CV in the men's 1500m after taking his second 5,000m title on Tuesday.

Finally, in the women's heptathlon, reigning Olympic and world champion Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium is poised to continue her dominance in the event by retaining her title from Berlin 2018.
