Chloe Kim crowned halfpipe world champion
The Olympic champion clinched her first world title in Utah as Scotty James completes unique hat-trick.

Olympic champion Chloe Kim won the women's halfpipe at the snowboard World Championships on Friday to add to her growing list of honours.
The 18-year-old, who in addition to PyeongChang 2018 gold also has two Winter Youth Olympics and five Winter X-Games golds to her name, was confirmed as the new world champion even before she took her last of three runs in Park City, Utah.
Early domination
In front of a home crowd, the American had laid down a 93.50 score in her first run, which none of the other seven competitors could better across their three attempts.
That was 9.50 points better than anyone else could manage, with China's defending champion Cai Xuetong winning silver on 84.00 points.
Kim's teammate Maddie Mastro finished in third.
Three-peat for James
Meanwhile, Australia's Scotty James successfully defended his men's halfpipe title again.
His third run score of 97.50 ensured a third straight world title for the 24-year-old, making him the first male snowboarder to claim three halfpipe gold medals.
The Olympic bronze medallist's third world crown also means only alpine snowboarders Jasey-Jay Anderson of Canada and Benjamin Karl of Austria (four each), and snowboard cross athletes Lindsey Jacobellis of USA and Karine Ruby of France (six each) have won more world titles than him.
