YANG Qian and YANG Haoran of People's Republic of China beat the United States' duo of Mary Tucker and Lucas Kozeniesky to the 10m air rifle mixed team gold by 17-13.
In a tight match, the Chinese came from behind to win after a rare mistake by Qian in the early rounds, scoring in the sevens.
However, the duo fought back and in the latter stages of the competition the score was 11-11.
Despite scoring no less than 9.8 throughout the competition, the Americans were beaten by the Chinese pair to the Olympic title.
That's Qian second gold this Games after becoming the first gold medallist at Tokyo 2020 when she won the 10m air rifle final on Saturday, with an Olympic record total of 251.8. Haoran won bronze in the men's event.
Yulia Karimova and Sergey Kamenskiy of the ROC beat NAM Taeyun and KWON Eunji from Republic of Korea to win bronze.
