Buenos Aires 2018 launches its volunteer programme for the Youth Olympic Games
The Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee today celebrates International Volunteer Day by launching its volunteer programme ahead of next year’s Youth Olympic Games! Online registration is open until 31 March 2018 via the official website, www.buenosaires2018.com.
Voluntary work is at the heart of the Olympic Movement. The Olympic and Youth Olympic Games wouldn’t be possible without volunteers’ participation, dedication and commitment. “Athletes are at the centre of the Olympic Movement and of the Games,” said Gerardo Werthein, President of the Buenos Aires 2018 Organising Committee. “Volunteers are essential for the Movement and essential for the development of the Youth Olympic Games,” he added.
Up to 8,000 volunteers for Buenos Aires 2018 will be chosen from a list of local and international candidates.
A variety of positions will be available within multiple areas, such as spectator assistance, translation services, media relations and sports competition support, to name just a few of the many varied and essential roles.
