We are down to the last five matches at badminton's BWF World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, 28 August 2022.

Viktor Axelsen seeks to add a second world title to the Olympic gold medal he won in the Japanese capital last summer. The Dane will take on Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the first Thai to reach a world men's singles final.

In the women's singles, local favourite Yamaguchi Akane is one win away from retaining her title but China's reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei stands in her way.
