The Tokyo 2020 men's singles badminton champion dispatched Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-16, 21-8 in just 39 minutes.
The reigning world champion will now face his compatriot Rasmus Gemke.
His fellow Dane Anders Antonsen had to pull out of the event before his opening match. The third seed's withdrawal handed a walkover victory to Shi Yu Qi.
Anthony Ginting was beaten by Lakshya Sen 21-16, 21-12 in a highly anticipated match on a packed day in the men's singles event.
In the first game of the day, Chen Yu Fei of China got her women's singles tournament underway with a 21-12, 21-12 win over Thailand's Supanida Katethong. Tai Tzu Ying and Ohori Aya also progressed, while Ratchanok Intanon beat Kirsty Gilmour 21-14, 21-12.
On Tuesday Spain's Carolina Marin , Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia and Loh Kean Yew of Singapore made it through to round two of the BWF Super 750 event.
