Australia’s Paris 2024 Paralympics team: All qualified and selected athletes - full list

The Paris 2024 Paralympics kicks off on August 28 and a total of 160 Australian para athletes will look to make a mark at the 17th edition of the Games.

The Australian Paralympics team, co-captained by Angela Ballard, eight-time medallist in para athletics and Curtis McGrath, a three-time gold medal winner in para canoe, will compete in 17 of the 22 sports at the Paralympic Games in Paris.

Tokyo 2020 gold medallists Qian Yang and Lina Lei will lead Australia’s 12-member para table tennis team - the country’s largest at the Games since Tel Aviv 1968.

Para table tennis player Danni Di Toro will be Australia’s most experienced athlete in Paris. Danni will make her eighth appearance at the Games, placing her joint second on the all-time Australian list.

The 13-member triathlon squad will be Australia’s biggest ever in the event.

The Perris brothers, Chad and Kane, are set to become the first siblings to compete for Australia in the Paralympics since Barcelona 1992. Chad will race in his third Paralympics cycling competition while Kane will make his debut.

In para powerlifting, Hani Watson and Ben Wright will become the first Australians in the sport since London 2012.

For para swimming, Australia have sent a 30-member squad. Holly Warn, at 15 years and five months, will be the youngest Australian Paralympian at Paris 2024 while Callum Simpson, 17 years and four months, will be the youngest male para athlete.

As many as 61 Australian para athletes are set for their Paralympic debut. Debutant Telaya Blacksmith (para athletics) will be Australia’s 16th known indigenous Paralympian.

Meanwhile, Madison de Rozario (para athletics) and Brenden Hall (para swimming) will be Australia’s flag-bearers at the Paris 2024 Paralympics Opening Ceremony.

At Tokyo 2020, a total of 179 Australians featured in the Paralympic Games. They finished eighth overall with 80 medals - 21 gold, 29 silver and 30 bronze. The team bagged 33 medals in para swimming and 19 in para athletics.
