Two years after claiming their first Olympic medal in men's basketball, Australia travel to the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup as a podium favourite.

The Boomers finished fourth at the previous edition of the competition in 2019, but their rise through the men's world rankings (third, behind Spain and the USA) - as well as winning bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021 - shows that Australia are serious contenders to win gold in the Philippines.

Olympics.com takes look at Australia's roster and schedule for the upcoming World Cup, as well as information on how to watch their live games.

Australia's roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup

Australia's roster for the World Cup is as follows:

Australia's schedule at the 2023 FIBA World Cup

Australia have been drawn in what has been widely acknowledged as the toughest group of the entire tournament: Group E.

In addition to co-hosts Japan, the Boomers will have to contend with world No.11 Germany and world No.24 Finland. All three teams have serious NBA talent on their rosters (Watanabe Yuta (JPN); Franz Wagner, Mo Wagner, Dennis Schroder (GER); Lauri Markkanen (FIN)), meaning Australia will have to be at the top of their game in order to progress to the knockout stages.
