Shigekix secured a breaking quota at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after beating Hontgen for the inaugural Asian Games 2023 gold medal on Saturday (7 October).
Chinese B-Girl 671 held off Ami of Japan to obtain a berth in Paris where breaking will make its Olympic Games debut.
"I'm just happy about the championship, winning a gold medal," Shigekix said. "Mentally, physically it was not easy but I managed to channel what I could into a good performance here.
"I thought I was in the right of mind for the final. Breaking's not only about technique but also an art form. You feel the energy flow from within and I think that came out to the fullest in the final."
The men's bronze medal went to homegrown Lithe-ing, who edged Issin 2-1. Issin's Japanese compatriot Ayumi outclassed Ying Zi of the People's Republic of China.
As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes' participation at the Paris Games depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation at Paris 2024.
