The colourful emblem of the YOG Buenos Aires 2018 has already been spotted throughout the Argentine capital – most notably when it was projected onto the city’s iconic Obelisco to mark one year to go to the Games.

But by October next year, the eye-catching design will be a ubiquitous sight throughout Buenos Aires, heralding the arrival of nearly 4,000 of the world’s most talented young athletes.

The emblem itself aims to reflect the host city’s vibrant colours, eclectic culture and iconic architecture, with each character inspired by famous landmarks of Buenos Aires.

From the famous domed ceiling of the Colón Theatre and the flowing lines of the Floralis Genérica sculpture to the arches of the historic Abasto shopping mall and the towering angles of the Obelisco, the emblem showcases the style and diversity of the city and offers a glimpse of the many facets of Buenos Aires.

And in October next year, when it is proudly displayed at every YOG venue, it will also represent the hopes and dreams of every young athlete who is competing.
