The countdown is on to Brisbane 2032!

Olympic and Paralympic spirits will be stronger than ever in 2024 – with our incredible Aussie athletes heading to Paris to compete at the XXXIII Olympiad.

This year marks another milestone: 8 years to go until the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032. Set to be the third time the Olympics will be held in Australia, and the first in Queensland, huge celebrations will take place.

Grab your green and gold – it’s time to be part of the journey.

On 23 July 2024, events were held across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast to celebrate eight years to go to Brisbane 2032.

On 22 and 23 July 2023, 33 community events were held across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast to mark nine years until we host the world on our home soil for Brisbane 2032.

The celebrations welcomed the large-scale Olympic Rings and Paralympics Agitos structures across iconic locations in Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine Coasts – the first time both symbols have been on display in Australia since the Sydney 2000 Games.

At Paralympic Games celebrations, the Australian Government announced vital funding to help uncover the next generation of champion para-athletes.

9 years to go

Olympic and Paralympic spirits soared through Brisbane’s South Bank Parklands as over 10,000 people came together to celebrate 10 years to Brisbane 2032.

The Green and Gold Runway rolled out cultural performances, sports demonstrations, and appearances from some of Australia’s most outstanding athletes as Queenslanders of all ages had a go at a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports.
