Be Part of Something Special: Olympic and Paralympic Volunteers

All eyes will be on Brisbane in 2032 – and we’re getting ready to shine.

It takes a huge team effort to host the world’s biggest sporting event. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Olympic and Paralympic spirit - and will become an essential part of the Brisbane 2032 team as we warmly welcome thousands of visiting athletes, administrators and fans to our shores for the Games.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games will draw on the contributions of the entire community in exciting and innovative ways. Our volunteer programs will build skills, encourage diversity, improve opportunities for all, and be a force for good across the community – an important part of our Olympic legacy.

Come together to create and share unforgettable moments and help us deliver a great experience.

Volunteer for the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays

Want the chance to carry the torch?

The Olympic Torch Relay – and the journey of the Olympic Flame from Olympia in Greece to the Host Country – is one of the most significant symbols of an Olympic Games. Carrying on the tradition, the Paralympic Torch Relay begins in Stoke Mandeville, UK - the birthplace of the Paralympic Games - before making its way to the Host Country.

Being a part of the Torch Relay in Australia will be a truly amazing opportunity for participants, and those who come out to witness the torch relay along its incredible 100-day journey to Brisbane’s Olympic stadium where the cauldron will be lit.

As we get closer to hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Brisbane 2032 team will be looking for torch bearer volunteers via our website.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (Brisbane 2032) pays its respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land and their legacy. The foundation laid by these ancestors – Australia’s First Peoples – give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both Indigenous and non Indigenous, towards creating a better Australia.

We recognise it is our collective efforts and responsibility as individuals, communities and governments to ensure equality, recognition and advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples across all aspects of society and everyday life, including sport. We are committed to building a deeper connection with First Nations Peoples through meaningful listening and authentic engagement. We celebrate and honour all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Olympians and Paralympians past and present and we are committed to honouring their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and the rich contribution they have made and continue to make to society and sport.
