Biography

Bill Jordan was a 1922 Naval Academy graduate who rowed on their championship eight at the 1921 and 1922 IRA Regattas as well as at the 1920 Olympic Games. Jordan resigned his Naval commission in 1923 and became an industrialist. He was a general manager for Curtiss-Wright Corporation’s local plant in Columbus, Ohio, when he wa named president of that company in 1948. He held that post until 1954, when he was named president and general manager of Hughes Aircraft.
