Biography

Ursula KÜPER

As a member of the Unified German team, swimmer Ursula Küper won a bronze medal at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome with the 4x100m medley relay. Four years later in Tokyo, she finished eighth in the 200m breaststroke final. In 1959, Küper claimed her only East German national title with the 4x200m breaststroke relay team. In 1962, she won a bronze medal at the European Championships in the 200m breaststroke. Her stepdaughter Antje Stille competed in swimming at 1976 Montréal Olympic Games. Küper studied sports and became a graduated high school sports teacher at the Humboldt University of East Berlin.
