Tommaso Lequio di Assaba took part in three consecutive Olympic Games. After winning the gold medal in individual jumping in 1920, he competed in 1924 and 1928 in show jumping and in the three-day event, respectively. He completed his medal collection in 1924 by winning a silver medal in show jumping and a bronze medal in team eventing. In jumping he rode Trebecco at all three Olympics. From 1960-65 Lequio di Assaba was President of the Italian Equestrian Federation. He was a cavalry officer and took over the command of an armored division in the North African theatre during World War II.
