Sonnhilde HAUSSCHILD

Sonnhilde Hausschild from Klingenthal in East Germany, finished seventh with the mixed German 3x5 km cross-country relay team at the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics. Four years later at Squaw Valley, she finished fifth, again in the relay, but under her married name Kallus. In the individual 10 km at the two Games, she finished 20th and 18th respectively. Hausschild-Kallus was the East German individual 10 km champion six times in 1955-59 and in 1962, and won the relay title with Klingenthal in 1957-60 and 1962. By profession she was a farmer.
