Biography
East German diver Rudi Oertel from Gera, husband of Waltraud Oertel finished 11th on springboard at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Married in 1954, their daughter Jana also became a diver. Rudi Oertel was East German springboard champion in 1951, 1954, 1956-57, and 1959.
