Biography

Roland Göhler was a member of the East German coxed fours crew that won the Olympic silver medal at Mexico in 1968. This crew won the East German title in 1969. In 1966, Göhler and Peter Kremtz had won the gold medal at the World Championships in the coxless pairs. Both also won the 1964 national title, and were second in 1965 and 1967.

Göhler was a trained carpenter, then studied test engineering, and later headed the supervision of state building in Dresden.
