Biography

At Duke University, Randy Jones ran track and played football, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was convinced to try out for the US Bobsled team after his 1991 graduation, and shortly teamed up with Brian Shimer, forming one of the best US bobsled teams in many years. When Shimer retired, Jones joined up with driver Todd Hays , and together they won a silver in the four-man at the 2002 Winter Olympics, the first US bobsled medal since 1956. During his bobsled career, Jones won four World Cup medals, and three medals at the World Championships, all in the four-man – silver in 2003, and bronzes in 1993 and 1997. After retiring from competition, he now works with the US Olympic Committee.
