Biography

Ramiro was introduced to weightlifting by one of his friends. Despite the struggles to be the right weight for weightlifting, he continued to dream of becoming a professional weightlifter. Following the tragic loss of his parents, he embarked on rigorous training under the guidance of a supportive coach at the age of fourteen.

Ramiro left his home country in 2019 and arrived in Blackpool, UK where he worked in a circus before settling in Bristol. His passion for weightlifting persisted, and he found a welcoming community at a local sports centre where he trained tirelessly. Today, Ramiro holds the British record in both 89 kg and 96 kg weight categories, winning the British Championships in 2022 and 2023. With a strict schedule and the support of his newfound friends, Ramiro set his sights on competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the 102 kg category.
