Biography

Pierre-Yvon Lenoir was French champion in the 800 metres in 1959-60 and in 1959 won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Beirut. Lenoir set a French record of 1:48.0 in 1959, and later set a French record in the 1,000 metres. He also won a title at the World Military Championships (CISM). Lenoir later directed the club Penthièvre Lamballe (LPA) but then became vice-president of the French Athletics Federation for eight years. His career was in electronics, where he was Director of IBM France and later joined adidas as marketing director.
