Biography

Paul Jessup won the NCAA and AAU discus titles in 1930. At the AAU Meet, his winning mark of 51.73 (169-7⅞) set a world record. Jessup repeated as AAU champion in the discus in 1931. He was also second in 1932 and third in 1929. A useful shot putter, he placed third in that event at the AAUs in 1930-31. He was also fourth in the shot at the 1929-30 NCAAs and fourth in the discus in 1929. He competed for the University of Washington and later the Washington AC.

Personal Bests: SP – 15.44 (50-8) (1930); DT – 51.73 (169-7⅞) (1930).
