Parviz Jalayer had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1968 Olympics Lightweight class (422.5 kg); 3rd in the 1966 World Championships Lightweight class (405.0 kg); 2nd in the 1968 World Championships Lightweight class (422.5 kg). He set one lightweight world record in the clean & jerk.
