Musa SULIMAN

Born in 2004 in Sudan, Musa experienced the hardships of war and displacement from a young age. He moved to Cairo at the age of nine due to his father’s health, where he worked to support his family. Musa arrived in Switzerland in 2021 as a refugee, and his love of sports quickly led him to join a local football club in Bern. He caught the attention of his peers when running during training, which earned him an invite to join a local running club. Soon after, he competed in a 400m competition and won.

For Musa, athletics changed not only his confidence but also his overall communication and relationships. Today, he trains six days a week whilst rapidly progressing in German. He was a member of the Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
