In a match-up the wrestling community was desperate to see, the reigning Olympic champion Armenia’s Artur Aleksanyan took on two-time world champion from the ROC Musa Evloev. It was Evolev, in his debut Olympic Games, who came out on top winning the Olympic title in the men’s Greco-Roman 97kg wrestling

This event took place on 03/08/2021 at the Makuhari Messe Hall A, Tokyo. It includes the Men's Greco-Roman 67kg, 87kg and Women's Freestyle 62kg Semifinals, as well as the Men's Greco-Roman 77kg, 97kg, and the Women's Freestyle 68kg Finals and their Victory Ceremonies. Lorincz (HUN) claimed Gold in the Men's Greco-Roman 77kg, Evloev (ROC) in the Men's Greco-Roman 97kg and Mensah Stock (USA) in the Women's Freestyle 68kg.
