Inspired and encouraged by her mother, Mahboubeh took up judo at the age of 15. She swiftly rose through the ranks, participating in numerous competitions in Iran before eventually joining the Iranian National Judo team. Left with no other choice in 2018, she sought asylum in Germany with her daughter.
Mahboubeh’s dedication to sport extends beyond judo as she also actively participates in bodybuilding, swimming, and running. Boasting a third dan black belt in judo, she has taken on roles as judge and coach in the sport. As a single mother, a refugee and a woman, Mahboubeh hopes to inspire others to pursue their goals. Mahboubeh’s daughter remains her biggest source of motivation.
She was a member of the Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
