Biography

Mabel Walker grew up in a small town in Alabama where she competed for Camden Academy. She was later a sprinter for Tuskegee Institute. She won the 1948 Olympic Trials at 100 metres, and was AAU champion that year in the 50 metres. Specializing in the very short sprint, she was third in the 50 metres at the 1947 AAU Meet, and the 1948 AAU Indoors. In 2010 she was inducted into the Mobile (Alabama) Sports Hall of Fame.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.3 (1948).
