Biography

Lydia Eberhardt won the pentathlon national title in 1939 and placed in the top six nationally in the javelin throw several times. In doing so she qualified for the Berlin Games in 1936 and placed sixth with 41.37 m in the final. She later worked for the German companies Zeller+Gmelin and WMF, but remained active in sports into her later years and also helped care for seniors. Eberhardt established “Food on Wheels” in her hometown of Eislingen.
