Biography

Skier Lisa Resch finished sixth in the Alpine combination at the 1936 Garmisch Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. Between 1934-39 she claimed one gold, four silver, and three bronze medals at the Alpine World Championships and still remains one of the most successful German Alpine skiers. She won her gold medal at Engelberg in the downhill event in 1938. In 1949 she died suddenly from a heart attack, only 40-years-old.
