Biography

A sprinter out of East Carolina University, Lee McNeill ran the 4x100 relay at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He twice won international gold medals in the relay, at the 1987 Pan American Games and the 1987 World Championships. In the 100 metres McNeill was runner-up at the TAC Meet in 1985 and third in 1988, famously outrunning Carl Lewis in the semi-finals in 1985. That summer he won the 100 at the US Olympic Festival. At the NCAAs, he was fourth in 1985 and third in 1986 in the 100. In 2010, McNeill was inducted into the Robeson County Sports Hall of Fame in Pembroke, North Carolina.
