Biography

Klaus Jäger rowed with the coxed pairs, partnering Winfried Ringwald and cox Holger Hocke, at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. The team finished second in the B-final (eighth place in total). He won a bronze medal at the 1975 World Championships in the same event. At the 1974 Europeans, he won a bronze with the coxless fours, and the following year, collected another with the coxed pairs.

Jäger won West German national titles in 1970 with the coxed fours and the coxed eights, and in 1971 with the coxless and coxed fours. He won the 1974 national coxless pairs (with Peter van Roye), coxless fours and eights. Finally, he added an eighth title in 1975 when he won the coxless pairs.
