Biography

Field hockey player Karl-Heinz Irmer was a member of the first German team to win an Olympic hockey medal, when they beat Belgium 3-0 to win the bronze medal at Amsterdam in 1928. He won six international caps between 1924-28. At club level he played for Club zur Vahr Bremen. By profession, Irmer was a merchant.
