Judy Howe competed for the Rochester Central Turners. After making the 1956 US Olympic team, Howe was injured in practice the day before the competition started, injuring her back and wrist. She competed despite this, and was able to finish all her events. Howe was married at the time of the 1956 Olympics and raised three children, but she also worked as a gymnastics coach at the Mt. Lebanon Gymnastics Center near Pittsburgh. She was later made a charter member of the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame.
