Biography

Joseph Lang was runner-up at the 1932 AAU Championships which qualified him for the 1932 Olympics. Lang won two matches in Los Angeles but then lost in the semi-finals to German Hans Ziglarski. Lang was injured in that fight and could not come out for the bronze medal match, eventually placing fourth. After the Olympics Lang turned pro, competing from 1933-35, all in California and Nevada. He finished with a career professional record of 8 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws, but never fought for any major titles.
