Biography

José Miguel Fernández de Liencres was a last minute substitute at the 1920 Olympics for Eduardo Flaquer. Fernández de Liencres’ sister was Conchita Fernández de Liencres, the first Spanish women’s champion, in 1925. His other siblings, Teresa and José Tomás, were top level players in Spain as well. The family was among Spanish high society.
