Jilen Siroky was only 14-years-old when she swam the 200 breaststroke at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Recruited by almost every major swim program, she chose Notre Dame, but she was haunted by injuries that caused her to miss the 2000 Olympic Trials, and eventually ended her competitive swim career.
Siroky did an internship while at Notre Dame with KPMG and later worked for them as a career, performing technology audits. She settled in the Chicago area with her husband and family, as Jilen Bouwer.
