Willy Sluiter was a painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Art Academy in Rotterdam from 1891-94 and then at the Art Academy in Den Haag. He was mainly influenced by impressionism and especially by the works of Toulouse-Lautrec. Sluiter also produced lithographs and advertising posters. He participated in four consecutive Olympic Games in the Art Competitions in the category paintings (1924-36).
