Born on the shores of the Caspian Sea, called the "wrestlers’ region", and with a father who was a wrestler, Iman naturally got into wrestling. He quickly achieved success as a wrestler, becoming a seven-time national junior champion. He found a balance in his daily life, dividing his time between training, competitions and school. In October 2020, he feared for his life and had no choice but to leave. After a long and difficult journey, he reached Italy, where he applied for asylum. Thanks to his sport, he found a club, whose members would soon become his friends, and a new family who helped him find accommodation and a job. He trains five days a week, alongside his work, and now dreams of a better life. He was a member of the Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
