Hermes Ramírez had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1968 Olympics 4×100 metres Relay; 2nd in the 1967 Pan American Games 4×100 metres Relay (with Pablo Montes, Juan Morales, and the non-Olympian Félix Eugellés), 2nd in the 1971 Pan American Games 4×100 metres Relay (with Pablo Montes, Juan Morales, and the non-Olympian Bárbaro Bandomo), 2nd in the 1975 Pan American Games 4×100 metres Relay (with Pablo Montes, José Triana, and Alejandro Casañas), 3rd in the 1967 Pan American Games 100 metres, 3rd in the 1975 Pan American Games 100 metres. In the 1971 Pan American Games 100 metres Ramírez finished fifth.
