Harry Marcoplos played hockey (field) for the US at the 1948 and 1956 Olympics. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, where he later coached women’s field hockey. Marcoplos became a sheep farmer in Maine and then Maryland, and became an expert on sheep. The wool from his sheep was shipped to mills mostly in New England. He also worked as a principal of home instruction for Maryland’s Calvert School.
