Biography

Günther Krauss played at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic hockey (field) tournament with West Germany, losing the bronze medal match against India, 2-1. East and West Germany played their only international match in a preliminary round, with West Germany winning 3-2. Krauss was capped 44 times between 1961 and 1969. Domestically he played with Gladbacher HTC, and helped them win the 1966 and 1967 West German national titles. His brother Friedhelm was also a national caliber hockey player.
