Biography

Georges PAILLARD

After his 1920 Olympic appearance, Georges Paillard disappeared from the cycling world for a few years. But in 1927 he returned to the track, primarily competing in motor-paced races (demi-fond). He was World Champion in that event in 1929 and 1932 and placed second at the 1930 Worlds. At the French Championships he was motor-paced champion in 1928-32 and 1934, placing second in 1938, third in 1935, and fourth in 1939. Among his rare road appearances he won the 1937 Criterium des As, and was 64th at the 1939 Paris-Tours race.
