Biography

George Saling of the University of Iowa won the 1932 NCAA 120y hurdles in 14.1, although this world record clocking was never officially ratified. At the 1932 Final Trials, Jack Keller beat Saling but at the Olympics it was Percy Beard who gave him the most trouble Saling just held him off in a close finish. Less than one year after his Olympic victory, George Saling was killed in an automobile accident.
