Biography

František Ševčík was a right winger who played most of his Czechoslovakian career with TJ ZKL Brno, staying with that team from 1961-73. He then played two seasons each with HC Baník Karviná and TJ Železárny Prostějov, before retiring after the 1976-77 season. In his league career he competed in 446 regular season games, scoring 221 goals and 329 points. Ševčík competed at only one Winter Olympics, winning a silver medal in 1968 and being named to the Olympic All-Star team that year. He competed at four World Championships, winning medals each time, with silvers in 1965-66 and bronzes in 1969-70.
