Fernand CANTELOUBE

In addition to winning the bronze medal in the individual road race at Antwerpen in 1920, Fernand Canteloube won a gold medal with the French team. In 1921 he placed fourth at the Amateur World Championships. He turned professional in 1922 but only raced for two years with the French Thomann-Dunlop team. His greatest success came in 1922, winning the Polymultipliée race, which was contested until 2009, since 1970 called Trophée des Grimpeurs. In 1923 Canteloube won the second stage of Madrid-Santander.
