Biography

Ferdinand Haas was eliminated at the 1964 Tokyo Games in the semifinals of the 400 hurdles. In 1962 he won a gold medal at the Military World Championships (CISM) over the 400 hurdles, adding a silver medal in the 4x400 relay. He never managed to win a West German Championship, but was runner-up in 1963-65. In 1966 he married non-Olympian Anette Bockelmann, who was also a hurdler and a high jumper on a national level.
